The Raccoon Creek Water Trail Association is a group of local citizens from Athens and Vinton Counties. We are paddlers, watershed advocates, biologists and outdoor recreation professionals and enthusiasts. We are open to anyone with an interest in promoting Raccoon Creek.
We are partnering with State agencies such as the Divisions of Watercraft and Forestry and local organizations including the Sojourners and the Raccoon Creek Watershed Association. We are inventorying the creek for access points, and cultural and ecological features of interest. We will be creating maps of these features and creating access points and signs. We also sponsor canoe floats and will be actively promoting the creek at local festivals and other public events.
